For all winemakers, white Burgundy is the very pinnacle of winemaking and just about anyone who has ever made Chardonnay will look to the Burgundy region for inspiration and the very highest quality.
Technically Burgundy white wine is Chardonnay, but the region is the origin of the variety, which incidentally is the most popular white grape in the world. In Burgundy, the combination of land, temperature and heritage produces a wine that can never quite be replicated anywhere else.
