2023 Mâcon-Lugny 'Les Genièvres', Domaine Talmard

When we visited the Talmard family in France a few weeks ago, they unveiled an exciting new addition to their range: their brand new Mâcon-Lugny Les Genièvres'.

Its a cuvée that is a nudge fuller, riper and rounder than the Uchizy - a more expressive, fruit-forward style perhaps, with a fine,luscious, creamy texture on the palate.

You might be familiar with Mâcon-Lugny from other, larger, producers but Talmards is, to our mind, a massive step-up. This is a hugely impressive Burgundy, and a very fine expression of chardonnay indeed.

The Talmards are without doubt one of the best family estates in the Mâconnais, and their Mâcon-Uchizy has become one of our most popular wines from the region.
