2016 Château Poujeaux, Moulis-en-Médoc

"One of the great value (everything's relative of course) wines of the Médoc, with brilliant work being done by Christophe Labenne and Matheiu Cuvelier of Clos Fourtet. Great Médoc character, full of mint and charcoal and a clear build up of power through the palate. This is rich and spicy with lovely rippling tannins and great depth to the autumnal berry fruit . A classic Poujeaux that will age well but there is no need to wait beyond six to eight years to start drinking this. A real success. Planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and an equal 5% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. 2025-2040"
