2020 Petite Sirène de Château Giscours, Bordeaux
The 2020 Petit Sirene is a class act. The 2016 was delicious, and justifiably popular, but the 2020 ramps things up with its more profound presence and intensity of fruit. Lovely perfume on the nose, with a hint of violets and a spiced fruit coulis aroma. Luscious texture on the palate, with an abundance of black cherry and plum fruit. Ripe tannins, with a distinctly open, accessible style to it, and also a nice freshness and elegance on the finish. Winemaking as ever from the team behind top Margaux estate Chateau Giscours. 65% merlot and 35% cabernet.
Brilliant value - one of the most characterful and enjoyable drinking' clarets Ive tasted for a while.

Enjoyable for everyday drinking, at a good price when purchased, not surprised is a bestseller.
This is our ‘go to’ Bordeaux - an excellent wine at an excellent price
Really drinkable now - a smooth fruity red suitable for any time of the day. My second case of this vintage at a keen price. As always the delivery logistics were flawless.
Beautiful wine, can see why it's nearly sold out
Good nose dominated by cassis and plum. First taste is damson/plum with mature tannins leading to an earthy tannin finish that is long. A good every day wine at a good price - not enough complexity for a special occasion.
Really impressive claret with more Cabernet than often the case. Delicious. (previous vintage)
Really lovely balanced Bordeaux drinking beautifully right now. Plenty of red and black berry fruit and little hints of earthy maturity. Refreshing lively finish. A delicious bargain. (previous vintage)
