Full Provençal rosé-drinking options for Summer 2025

We say every season is Provençal rosé season. But when the thermometer starts pushing 30C-wards and summer salads, grilled fish and seafood dishes start populating your al fresco dining table, you know the season is especially high.

So, to help you take it higher, here’s our list of options for 2025. Starting at just under £13 a bottle, exquisite, luminous, pale-salmon-hued options – all now in stock – to ensure you get the optimum Provençal drinking experience this summer.

Famille Sumeire

The multi-estate Famille Sumeire of Provence, who for centuries have defined the rosé style that is today so loved around the world. Made from gently pressed and vinified grenache and cinsault sourced from specific vineyards throughout the Côtes de Provence and along the French Mediterranean coast, it’s another classic expression of what such illustrious Provençal pedigree does best.

2024 Nautic Rosé, IGP Méditerranée

Tasting note:

A classic style, pale-pink, crisp, aromatic, creamy, red-berry-fruited delicacy, and the perfect touch for those weekend al fresco moments soon to come. With fresh seafood – exquisite. Grilled sardines – perfect. Summer salads – always. And when pouring aperitifs a-plenty this spring and summer, no rosé could be more fitting – few so reasonably priced.

Maison Angelvin

A charming, family‑owned boutique winery nestled on a sun‑drenched, 2 ha hillside between Saint‑Tropez and the Salins beach. Now in its fourth generation, the estate focuses on organic rosé crafted from grenache, cinsault, mourvèdre, hand‑harvested at night to preserve freshness. Fermentation in small vats preserves the unique character of each parcel, resulting in an elegant, crisp Provençal rosé cuvées that capture the true essence of the tradition and style.

2024 Maison Angelvin Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Angelvin is again our top recommendation as the 2024 vintage continues a winning streak of consistently superb vintages. Made in the hills of Saint-Tropez, here is authentic Provençal finesse: a crisp, elegant, beautifully balanced rosé with lively red summer-berry fruit, and a hint of spice leading to a long, invigorating finish. Lovely to drink on its own, of course, or indeed with lighter dishes.

Tasting note:

Pale salmon-pink in the glass, with an almost silvery shimmer so delicate, yet with quite intense aromas giving wild strawberry, orange blossom and honeysuckle. The palate is crisp and precise, finely balanced with red berry fruit, a touch of white peach and an almost herbaceous note, all wrapped up with a freshening zing on the long, dry finish. Indispensable for summer.

Maison Ravoire

A Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape and Provence-based extension of the centuries‑old Famille Ravoire legacy dating as far back as 1593. Their namesake range blends grenache, syrah and regional varietals from mature vines—often over 50 years old—to produce wines that are both elegant and powerful.

2024 Costeval Rosé, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence

One of our great Provençal rosé discoveries is available: 2024 vintage of Maison Ravoires Costeval. Not only from Provence, but from its much smaller, more exclusive sub-appellation of Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence rosé tradition.

Where vineyards nestled in the heart of the Alpilles mountain range are exposed to both abundant sunshine and the cold, dry Mistral wind. Where, in rugged conditions, grenache, syrah and cinsault vines planted in stony, clay-limestone soils render Costeval's delicate yet concentrated lime zest, wild strawberry and red fruit flavours.

Cool night-harvesting then assures a supreme freshness in grapes is retained before the fruit is gently, directly pressed for a low-temperature vinification of the final blend. A blend expressing all the luminous purity, elegance and finesse that is the essence of the Provençal rosé tradition. All in perfect time for your summer drinking and dining pleasure.

Tasting note:

A blend of grenache, syrah and cinsault; pale-salmon rose-hued, bursting with floral, creamy, wild strawberry aromas that lead to an exquisite palate of red fruit and lime zest that is supple, round, vivacious and crisply defined by an elegant minerality.

A Provençal rosé of remarkable purity and finesse; one to pair fabulously with seafood, charcuterie, crumbly cheeses and grilled peppers.

Château de Léoube

A brand-new addition to our range. The estate is nestled on 560 hectares along four kilometres of Mediterranean coastline at Cap Bénat and remains an organic beacon of Provence winemaking. With 65 ha of vines and 20 ha of olive groves, Léoube crafts an acclaimed rosé-led portfolio alongside whites, reds, sparklings, and olive oil. British-family owned since 1997, its winemaking is overseen by the esteemed Romain Ott of the great Ott dynasty.

2024 Love by Léoube Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Tasting note:

"The 2024 Love by Léoube Rosé is charming. Even if you are stuck here and didn't trade up the range, you'd die happy. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Mourvèdre, it has scrumptious chewy, ripe fruit, a touch of salinity thanks to cooling sea breezes, and a long, fresh finish. An instant delight, at this price it should be in everyone's fridge." – Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine

2024, Château de Léoube Rosé, Côtes de Provence

In the 2024 vintage, a delicate blend of grenache, cinsault, syrah and mourvèdre, manually harvested, gently pressed, slowly extracted then fermented in all stainless-steel tank for supreme freshness and finesse, and for the ultimate complement to all manner of Mediterranean cuisine.

Tasting note:

"The 2024 Ch. Léoube Rosé is more grown up, a sophisticated pinkers of real style - elegant, fruity, yet dry. A great aperitif, it matches with red meat as well as fish and seafood. It's a great price, too, that I've not seen bettered."– Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine

2024 Secret de Léoube Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Tasting note:

"I last tasted the 2024 Secret de Léoube Rosé at ten on a sun-dappled South Ken morning and couldn't stop smiling. Oh, don't be like that! I was working, meeting Léoube's UK sales director, Anthony Gordon, to chat about this and that. The fact that we drained the bottle testifies to how much we had to talk about. This is a white wine lovers rosé soft, smooth and textured, thanks to a very gentle press of free run juice. Almost Chablis-like in its focus, its crisp, clean and dry with a taut mineral finish." – Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine

Château d’Esclans

One of the most iconic of Provençal estates and one famed for igniting the global "Rosé Renaissance" under Sacha Lichine's ownership since 2006. Here, 140 ha of vineyards planted mainly with grenache, vermentino and ancient vines for a sumptuous blend of history and terroir.

The estate’s flagship Whispering Angel rosé has become a global benchmark and is followed by premium cuvées like Rock Angel, Les Clans and Garrus, which are crafted with barrel fermentation and old‑vine fruit. Château d’Esclans offers elegant, mineral-driven rosés that combine freshness, structure and Mediterranean finesse.

2024 Whispering Angel Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Not only is the sleek, crisp and fruity drinking pleasure of Whispering Angel's 2024 vintage here, so too is your chance to make grand savings on this pleasure.

There's never been a better reason to stock up and you ensure true Provençal delicacy and delight throughout the year.

Once again, Whispering Angel has all the refreshing elegance, sensual aromas and mouth-watering flavours to meet it. That's why it's the world's favourite Côtes de Provence. That's why it's now time to get yours.

2022 Chateau d’Esclans Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Whispering Angel quality taken up a notch via grapes selected exclusively from Château d'Esclans' estate vineyards. A serious rosé that's all the better with a bit of time spent in-bottle. Very pale, with wonderful, fresh summer fruit flavours that linger. If anything, this is a rosé to go with 'haut cuisine' dishes, but, of course, is always exquisite on its own.

2024 Rock Angel Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Whispering Angel's greater sibling. One of the finest rosés around - the minerally richness and added complexity is wonderfully food-friendly.

Rock Angel is a serious rosé more akin to a good white burgundy. Entirely hand crafted by Château d'Esclans, Rock is partly barrel-fermented to add richness and texture, and made in small quantities. It has magnificent subtle fresh fruit flavours, just the right amount of body and a long fine finish. An exquisite rosé if ever there was one.

2022 Les Clans, Château d'Esclans, Provence

The epitome of sophistication in a food-driven rosé made from grenache and rolle (vermentino) and interestingly, one that has been fermented and slightly aged entirely in large French oak barrels. Les Clans also distinguishes itself from other rosés given its remarkable potential to age; and while being rich, exotic and full-bodied, it never fails to show supreme elegance.

The Stradivarius of rosé wine, you could say. Les Clans sings quality, and when blind-tasted, is easily mistaken for a decent white burgundy or Condrieu. The perfect pairing with indulgent dishes like Dover sole and lobster.

2022 Garrus, Château d'Esclans, Côtes de Provence

Indisputably Château d'Esclans’ crowning glory. Garrus is made of grenache from a single vineyard of nearly 100-year-old vines, and from rolle (vermentino). Fermented and aged entirely in large French oak barrels for 11 months, the powerful, elegant Garrus was at the heart of Sacha Lichine's vision in 2006 to elevate rosé wine production to the highest level of craftsmanship.

Today, the label is firmly established as a world class, iconic luxury rosé as exemplified in the 2022: an impressive and concentrated rosé with a creamy finish featuring rich and spicy notes rivalling any top white wine or prestige champagne.

Chateau Minuty

2023 Minuty M Rosé, Côtes-de-Provence

A Provençal original since 1936 and today indisputably one of the most esteemed rosé brands in the world. More specifically, their new 2023 Minuty M cuvée (in bottles and magnums) made by fourth-generation famille Matton-Farnet at their luxurious estate amidst the hillside villages overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Tasting note:

Here, the essence of the Provençal style: crisp, refreshing, delicate, beautifully balanced, pale- salmon-hued blends bursting with lively red summer-berry fruit, nuanced with a hint of spice, and leading to a long, invigorating finish. Invigoration the rosé drinker will find irresistible.

Broaden your rosé pleasure

Of course, your summer rosé experience is by no means limited to Provence. There’s pink, 100% pinot noir elegance to be savoured in rosé Sancerre, for example, or from Suffolk’s very own Higham Vineyards, or the Pfalz region in Germany. Then, South Africa, Essex, New Zealand, Italy. More. Peruse our full rosé selection and broaden your rosé pleasure this summer.
