2019 Château Moulin Eyquem, Côtes de Bourg
Dating back to 1597, Château Moulin Eyquem is one of the oldest vineyard estates in the Côtes de Bourg. Its 20 hectares of vines sit on clay and limestone terraces north of Bordeaux, where the Mostermans family have built a reputation for producing some of the appellation's finest wines.
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot, this beautifully mature Bordeaux has spent six years developing in bottle. The result is a smooth, characterful claret with layers of ripe black fruit, subtle spice and an elegant finish.
A supple, appealingly perfumed Cotes de Bourg from the excellent 2019 vintage. Dense and structured, with fine concentration of blackcurrant and damson fruit. 12 months ageing in oak adds a touch of cedar and spice. 50% merlot, with cabernet and malbec adding depth and character. 30 year-old vines here on gravel-clay-limestone soil from one of the oldest properties in the Côtes de Bourg.
