2025 Grillo di Sicilia, Rupe Secca, Sicily
Discover Sicily's signature white - crisp, vibrant and made for summer
Why We Recommend It
- Sicily's Signature White
Discover Grillo, one of Italy’s increasingly popular white grape varieties. - Recommended by Jonathan Ray
A "cracker" with baked apple, citrus and peach flavours. - Fresh, Characterful and Versatile
Bright citrus and ripe orchard fruit make this a natural partner for seafood and grilled fish.
Jonathan Ray's Verdict
"Sicily's signature grape, Grillo, is increasingly popular and the 2025 Rupe Secca, from vineyards surrounding Marsala in the far west of the island, is a cracker. Dry to off-dry, it's lightly honeyed and full of baked apple, citrus and even a touch of peach. Mrs Ray, who'd heard the cork pop and had come down to see what the fuss was about, reckoned it became more Viognier-like as she went down the bottle."

Typical Grillo. First reaction was very pale but tasting the notes of citrus and a hint of apple. Easy to drink wine either by itself or with fish or seafood.
