2025 Touraine Chenonceaux, Domaine Bellevue

There's a subtle golden sheen to the wine in the glass, with aromas of orchard fruit, citrus and grapefruit intermingled with more exotic stone fruit notes of peach and passion fruit.
 
The palate has a lovely concentration to it, with flavours that follow the aromatics nicely, orchard fruit, kiwi, passion fruit and a touch of prickly gooseberry, with a subtle slatey mineral charm on the finale which holds long on the palate.
 
Dry and zippy, but always pure and elegant, it encapsulates what makes Loire Valley sauvignon blanc so special and different from the many 'New-World' offerings, it's not big nor brash, just classy, delicate, precise and undeniably delicious.
 
A fine example of Loire Sauvignon Blanc indeed, one that will put many a Sancerre in the shadows, it's joyous as an unaccompanied aperitif, but will shine with seafood, goat cheeses, mixed charcuterie and much more besides.
 
Patrick's ever popular Touraine Sauvignon is always delicious, but his Touraine Chenonceaux is an undeniable step up.
