ABOUT THIS WINE
Château Ramafort has been one of our most popular clarets over the last few years, and this 2018 is the latest in the line of fine vintages for the property. A vintage that has been called a 'legend in the making' by critics, one characterised by its warmth, ripeness, expression and fine structure. In McIness's hands, it has made for a very smart, classy claret, and to my palate, a lot of wine at this price point.
Tasting Note
Following on from the excellent 2016, the 2018 has perhaps a nudge more elegance and traditional style about it. Very classic and absolutely textbook medoc. Profound blackcurrant coulis aroma - absolutely sings cabernet sauvignon - with spiced plum, a hint of cedar, and a woody, polished character. For a warm vintage, this is refined on the palate and comparatively 'light on its feet'. Very nice poise and harmony, with luscious black fruit and savoury, spicy richness dovetailing nicely with ripe, fine-grained tannins. Another classic from this fine estate.

What do the critics think?
I found this a very acceptable and decent claret for regular drinking. very very good value, and a small lesson in looking for supplies in interesting areas. Top marks to the detectives at FVD.
Excellent ten year old Medoc at a very good price. As ever, prompt delivery.
