2024 Côtes du Rhône Blanc 'La Source', Domaine de Mourchon, Rhône
As well as their wonderful rich reds, Mourchon also make this very food-friendly white blend. A great partner for seafood, with perfume, richness and a creamy texture - an outstanding white and something a little different.
"Mourchon's Cotes du Rhone la Source is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Marsanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc vinified in stainless steel. It's medium-bodied and fleshy, filled with pear and pineapple fruit, but backed by crisp acids and a long finish." - Joe Czerwinski

This is fruity yet dry, so great with seafood or poultry, and can be drunk with the fruit at dessert.
You said it was food-friendly - and so it is - but it is also perfect on its own, especially on a warm summer day. (Yes, we’ve had a few of these even in Scotland!) I’ve worked my way through most of the dozen that I bought, and will seriously consider re-ordering.
I really have fallen for this estate, I’ve tried the red, rose and now the white, I can’t fault anything I’ve tasted! This is a gorgeous creamy everyday white that surpassed the very reasonable price tag. It is much richer than I expected and certainly more complex than I thought it would be. Really palatable and very difficult to put it back in the fridge. I am delighted to have discovered Mourchon. Only bought the one bottle to try but will definitely be ordering more! Absolutely recommended.
