2022 Merlot, Clos Malverne, Stellenbosch

This is a really nice example of merlot – very typical of the variety, but also much more fruit-forward then some. Open, expressive and very appealing, with lots of wild strawberry, plum and raspberry fruit. Ripe and luscious in texture with fine richness and subtle spice, woodsmoke and anise on the finish. Hand-picked, and matured in barrel for 12 months.
