Jonathan Ray's Verdict
"The 2023 Margaux (4) is full, rich and scented with fragrant notes of azaleas rung dry after the rain. There is enticing red fruit in the mouth at first, giving way to deeper, richer, darker fruit and it all makes for a deeply satisfying glass or so. The finish is long and velvety and although it will last good year or so, it’s hard to resist now."

A Fine Expression of Margaux
There is something particularly appealing about a well-made Margaux, with its distinctive perfume, supple texture and balance of richness and refinement. This 2023 is a fine example, offering the character of this celebrated Médoc appellation without the price usually associated with its better-known châteaux.
Generous red and black fruit is complemented by subtle spice, finely integrated tannins and a lovely freshness through the finish. Already enjoyable, it has the balance and depth to develop further in bottle. A particularly satisfying claret, whether enjoyed now or kept for another occasion.

Another class act. Raspberries and blackberries and a stunning understated claret from Wheelers
