Situated in the heart of the Haut-Médoc, Château Beaumont is a long-established Cru Bourgeois estate celebrated for its classic, Cabernet-led clarets and outstanding value. Its gravel-rich vineyards produce wines of elegance, structure and character. A long-time Mr.Wheeler bestseller – whenever we can keep it in stock! – the excellent 2019 vintage is a particularly fine example of this ever-popular château.

Tasting Note

A beautifully expressive Haut-Médoc claret, with enticing aromas of ripe blackcurrant and dark berry fruit, layered with classic notes of cedarwood, pencil shavings and subtle tobacco. Medium-bodied and wonderfully fresh, with well-defined fruit, firm yet balanced tannins and an appealing savoury complexity. Elegant and structured, with a satisfyingly long, persistent finish.

“The 2019 Beaumont has a delineated, fresh, cedar and pencil lead infused bouquet, lifted black fruit, light tobacco scents that emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly brusque tannins on the entry, but I appreciate the edginess and tension of this wine and the grip it exerts on the finish. Worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. ”
