2022 Bindo IGT Toscana Bianco, Bindi Sergardi, Tuscany

A fresh, fragrant and characterful white from this excellent estate – with expressive aromas of peach melon and pear. Lovely balance on the palate – a rush of crisp grapefruit and ripe lemon kicks things off – then unfurls with luscious stone fruit flavours, followed by a touch of toasted almond and savoury spice. Lots going on here – an intense, food-friendly wine, as well as a zippy, flavourful aperitif.

(Tuscany is of course best known for its fine reds, but also brings us some striking, characterful whites. Bindi Sergardi blend local grapes Malvasia and Trebbiano with a little chardonnay to delicious effect).
