"The 2024 Séguinot-Bordet Chablis has pedigree, coming as it does from a domaine that has been making wine for almost 450 years. It also has style, being made by wunderkind winemaker Jean-Francois Bordet, who mixes traditional practices with the revolutionary, including the use of innovative cylindrical/horizontal fermentation tanks. The result here is a wine of real character, yellowy green in the glass, lightly flowery on the nose and soft, supple, slightly toasty and elegantly mineral on the finish. I love it."
Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine (tasted in October 2025).
One of the purest expressions of the chardonnay grape you will find - vinified in stainless steel to bring the maximum freshness and aroma, then matured on its lees for nine months to add richness and texture. Crisp and refined, with a seaspray, mineral freshness, floral notes, intense white fruit, and a long, impressive finish. Classy, classic Chablis.
Food pairings: Smoked salmon, baked salmon, sole fillet, raw oysters, shellfish, prawns, crab, lobster, goat's and soft cheeses.
About the producer
Domaine Séguinot-Bordet can trace its history back to 1590, although the winery, now run by Jean-Francois Bordet, is anything but dated. The wines are made in a well-equipped modern winery, with vinification taking place in stainless steel vats for the village wines, and careful maturation in second-fill barrels for Grand Crus.
