Fine White Burgundy
If I were to choose a ‘desert-island’ white – it would absolutely be Burgundy. Chardonnay is of course grown all over the world – but the Côte d’Or villages of Puligny, Meursault and Chassagne are where it reaches is absolute peak – where, many of us believe, the world’s finest white wines are made.
But for the best value to be found in Burgundy – look just a little further afield. Beyond the Côte d’Or... some exceptional drinking wines are to be found to the north, in Chablis – and further South in the Maconnais.
