2024 Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine Des Fines Caillottes, Jean Pabiot et Fils
Savour supreme Loire Valley sauvignon expression in Jean Pabiot & Fils Pouilly-Fumé. Experience exquisite tropical fruit, fresh-cut grass, and green apple aromas with a flinty touch, then thrill your palate with all the juicy, crisp, zesty, creamy mineral vibrancy of an eternal classic.
You only need to taste the 2024 to see why we reckon you'll want more than one bottle. As with its regional, and perhaps better-known sibling, Sancerre, few regions anywhere render sauvignon blanc with such finesse, delicacy, and charm. Many would say nowhere else. Indeed, Jean Pabiot's 2024 is a superb testament to this pedigree, by which meticulous grape selection, lower-yielding vines, and generations of winemaking expertise converge for a wine showcasing both varietal purity and world-class terroir.
My go to Pouilly-Fumé. The 2023 Pouilly-Fumé from Domaine Des Fines Caillottes is a classic expression of Sauvignon Blanc. With its trademark flinty minerality, vibrant acidity, and herbal notes, this wine embodies the unique characteristics of Pouilly-Fumé, offering both refinement and freshness.
Good citrus bouquet with hint of apple. First taste shows high acidity and lemon with some apple. Aeration for 30 minutes tempers the acidity and enhances apple with soft peach that carries through to a long finish. Although I am disappointed that gunsmoke/flint is not present there is some minerality.
A crisp elegant sauvignon blanc very well made wine lovely, perfect for outdoor drinking. Efficient speedy delivery as well.
