"Opaque purple. Deeply perfumed black and blue fruit, licorice, smoky bacon, espresso and olive scents are enlivened by smoky mineral and cracked pepper accents. Stains the palate with intensely concentrated, smoke-tinged blackberry, cherry-cola and candied violet flavors that show superb detail and become livelier as the wine opens up through the midpalate. The impressively long, chewy, focused finish features solid tannins, a touch of smoky bacon, and lingering floral, olive, and exotic spice notes."
