Higham Vineyard sits on the north side of the Stour Valley in Suffolk and is owned by good friend of mine, David Alston. David took on this wonderful site in 2019 and has since been managing the vineyard personally - management that resulted in a most impressive début vintage last year.

ABOUT THIS WINE
Exclusively made from the finest selected vines from rows 59 to 90 in the Higham vineyard. A light bramble fruit flavoured red with silky tannins and subtle oak ageing. Pairs well with red and white meats and vegetables and can be served lightly chilled in the hot summer sun!
Tasting Note
Bright crimson in colour,with an almost unmistakeable perfumed, pinot nose. David Alston?s 2022 HighamEstate is one of the best English reds we have tasted. Expressive, fragrant andshowy on the nose with bright red berry aromas and a hint of spicy, smokiness.On the palate - fresh and luscious with ripe raspberry, plum and cherryflavours. Deftly balances its warm, ripe supple texture with an appealingcrunch of fresh-picked berries. Fine poise and weight on the finish.
