2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière, Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini

With 30% new oak and 50% whole bunch fermentation, the domaine's Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière offers intoxicating, powerful notes of cassis with red berry compote and spiced vanilla cream. On the palate the wine is classic Pinot Noir, with velvety purple berry fruit richness and silk-tinged intensity allied to fine minerality. The wine, complimented by fabulous underlying structure and great freshness is in outstanding form this vintage.
