2018 G de Château Guiraud, Bordeaux
Lifted notes of fresh cut grass and mandarin lead to notions of honey and beeswax. Honeysuckle and candied citrus, pineapple and lime zest all come through with a little time in the glass. On the palate the wine is crisp and immediate, with crunchy Granny Smith apples, lemongrass, a touch of spice and a creamy, palate coating intensity. So vibrant and scintillating, the wine is wonderfully tensile with a core of tightly wound freshness. There is so much latent potential here, yet the wine is already delivering great pleasure even at this early point in its evolution.
