2020 Carmenere 'Grey' Single Block, Ventisquero, Rapel Valley

A superb example of Chile's own grape variety. Rich and rewarding, with smooth plum and spice in the main. With greater structure and complexity than many merlots of the region.

"I tasted two vintages of the Carmenere, and the 2019 Grey Carmenere is creamier and juicier than the more restrained and austere 2018 I tasted next to it. Both wines show varietal typicity and marked character from the vintage, plus the stony soils from Maipo where the grapes grow. This is a little more generous despite both showing very similar parameters. Drink to 2024"
