Penedo Borges Prisma Case
Argentinas Penedo Borges Bodega are among those producers who always find a new dimension to regional style. In their case (Mendoza), where heavy reds and ripe, exotic whites are typical, they offer instead wines of svelte freshness, elegance, energy, and vivid terroir expression. In other words, wines that are incredibly easy to drink.
Prisma represents the broad range of soil profiles the bodega profits from - a range geologically described as an alluvial prism. Situated at Alto Agrelo, outside Luján de Cuyo (pictured), it is this richness and high altitude (1,050m above sea-level) which Penedo Borges combine to create such intriguing wines of balance, personality and intensity.

2021 Prisma Gran Chardonnay, Penedo Borges
"...our solitary white, part of which is aged in oak and part in steel. With lively freshness and an enticing creaminess plus hints of peach, vanilla and baked apple, it's extremely classy. Only 750 cases made."
2019 Prisma Gran Blend, Penedo Borges
"...a purple/red oak-aged blend of Syrah, Malbec, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, that's full of opulent, sweet, peppery, briary fruit backed by a long savoury finish. It's so soft, smooth and velvetty but don't let that blind you to the fact that it's a punchy 15%vol. "
