The Shirvingtons planted their first vineyard in 1996 in McLaren Vale South Australia and currently have 26 hectares under vine. Production is totally red wine grapes - Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and Grenache. A small quantity of the best fruit is reserved for the SHIRVINGTON Label.
Their aim is to grow grapes that make super-premium, honest wines with full fruit flavour and consistent quality from vintage to vintage. The first release of 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon won the Bushing Trophy at the 2002 McLaren Vale Wine Show. All vintages since have continued to receive wide acclaim in Australia and internationally.
