2021 Costeval Rosé, Maison Ravoire, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
We'd be shouting from the hillsides of Aix-en-Provence, were we there. This is where, after tasting a gauntlet of over 100 rosés, our head buyer, Ben Godfrey, recently discovered Maison Ravoire's Costeval, new to us and an utter gem of a Provençal pink.
An elegant blend of grenache, syrah and cinsault that we strongly recommend you get a case or two of into your chiller before the sun shows itself again: pale salmon rose hue and bursting with floral, creamy, wild strawberry aromas; an exquisite palate of red fruit and lime zest that is supple, round, vivacious and crisply defined by an elegant minerality.
Costeval is from the more specific Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation, where vineyards nestled in the heart of the Alpilles mountain range are exposed to both abundant sunshine and the cold, dry Mistral wind. In these rugged conditions, and on vines planted in stony, clay-limestone soils, fruit concentrates its delicate lime and red berry flavours. Cool night harvesting then ensures an ultimate freshness is retained in grapes which are gently, directly pressed for a low-temperature vinification of the final blend.
The result is a Provençal rosé of remarkable purity and finesse and one that couldnt possibly pair better with the seasonal and regional: seafood, charcuterie, crumbly cheeses, grilled peppers - irresistible.

There are certain wines which are on a pre-order status and these are clearly marked on the product themselves and at the checkout stage. Deliveries take place between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
You won’t need to come into contact with our couriers, as they will deliver your selection to an agreed safe place, without requesting a signature. Please add your delivery instructions at the checkout when placing your order.
Our specialist in-house fulfilment team pick, pack and dispatch wines to all UK addresses. Our service is fast efficient and reliable.

Where possible, we will use the existing packaging the wine is shipped to us in from the producer. If we feel this is unfit, we will re-pack in a Mr.Wheeler branded, recyclable cardboard carton.
