Produced by Larry McKenna in the Martinborough region, this 2013 received staggeringly high scores from all and sundry, the most glowing of 96-97 points from Nick Stock at JamesSuckling.com. 2013 was a vintage unlike anything Martinborough had witnessed before, and this wine introduced a growing band of global pinot fans to the sheer potential held by more emerging regions of New Zealand.
"The most brooding of the Escarpment pinot noirs, this has a dark, mineral nose with graphite and slate, building to earth-crusted herbs, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, glacé orange peel, wet earth and crushed violets. The complexity is deeply integrated. On the palate there's striking clarity and focus, and the tannins are fine-tuned, super-smooth and rippling with energy. They drive long, smooth, clear, while dark-cherry and plum fruit flavors run alongside and wash up through the finish. A classic rendition of pinot in the iron-fist-and-velvet-glove style"

We aim to deliver your wines within our standard 1 to 4 working days. 90% of orders are delivered within 48 hours. There are certain wines which are on a pre-order status and these are clearly marked on the product themselves and at the checkout stage. Deliveries take place between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
You won’t need to come into contact with our couriers, as they will deliver your selection to an agreed safe place, without requesting a signature. Please add your delivery instructions at the checkout when placing your order.
Our specialist in-house fulfilment team pick, pack and dispatch wines to all UK addresses. Our service is fast efficient and reliable.
We do offer a next-day delivery service on a selected range of wines, which you can find here. Next-day delivery applies to these wines only and if any other wines are added to your order, the next-day delivery option will not be available. UK mainland only. Orders must be placed by 2pm, and deliveries will take place Monday to Friday.

Where possible, we will use the existing packaging the wine is shipped to us in from the producer. If we feel this is unfit, we will re-pack in a Mr.Wheeler branded, recyclable cardboard carton.
Inevitably there will be the occasional breakage upon transit. If your wine doesn’t arrive in perfect condition, please contact our sales team on 01206 713560 or [email protected] and we will be very happy to arrange a suitable solution or straight replacement.

if you don’t like any bottle, for whatever reason, please let us know and we will replace the wine or refund you.
