The historic Prunotto estate became part of the Antinori 'family' in 1989. This is a Barolo of epic stature, from the esteemed Vigna Colonello Cru of Monforte d'Alba. This is one of Piemonte's finest vineyards, and the quality here is testament to the terroir. Very much the iron fist in a velvet glove, this has great ageing potential. A very fine Barolo indeed.
The 2009 Barolo Riserva Bussia Vigna Colonnello is a new and very beautiful wine from Prunotto. It offers bold intensity and a big aromatic footprint. Dark fruit, spice, leather and road paving are rolled into one pretty package. The wine makes an impact thanks to its smooth transitions and long polished feel. There is, however, a slightly prickly point of acidity that keeps the palate en guard. Drink 2016-2030.

Where possible, we will use the existing packaging the wine is shipped to us in from the producer. If we feel this is unfit, we will re-pack in a Mr.Wheeler branded, recyclable cardboard carton.
