Founded by Jeremy and Emma Borg, Painted Wolf wines began as recently as 2005, when the couple were offered a small amount of excess grapes by a friend. Utilising a small area of borrowed cellar the couple bottled and corked their very first few bottles of 'family' shiraz by hand. Over the next 4 vintages the company utilised 9 different cellars to produce their bespoke wines and now have been joined by a number of other like minded winegrowers who together have become known as the 'pack'. The 'pack's aim is to produce small single vineyard wines that represent the very best of South Africa's wines. They particularly aim to utilise South Africa's two pivotal varieties chenin blanc and pinotage wherever possible. Although based in Paarl they also produce wines from grapes in Stellenbosch and Swartland too.
