For Antonio Galloni at vinous.com, 2021 Le Difeses blend of cabernet and sangiovese is impeccably balanced, has a classicism that is hugely appealing and is at once one of [his] favourite vintages.
The 2021 Le Difese is redolent of crushed red berry fruit, rose petal, lavender, spice and sweet pipe tobacco. Medium in body yet nicely layered, the 2021 is impeccably balanced. It is also a sheer delight to taste at this early stage. In many vintages, Le Difese is a fruity, forward wine, but the 2021 has a nervy feeling of classicism that is hugely appealing. It's one of my favorite recent vintages. As it has been for some time, Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate and Sangiovese purchased from several properties in Chianti Classico, with the energy of Sangiovese very much driving the feel in this vintage.

A renowned cuvée in its own right which, as Carlo Paoli, San Guidos GM puts it, has a satisfying drinkability, with its own personality different from Sassicaia, but similar in flavour and elegance. Its complexity and structure determine its great potential for ageing and refinement over a long period of time.
"Usually a 60/40 split, in 2020 Guidalberto (Sassicaia's little brother) is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Spiced plums, dark fruits and cedar aromas lead to a palate of intensity, tightness and concentration, showing tangy and bright plum, raspberry, blackcurrant and pomegranate flavours with fine-grained tannins. Our specialist in-house fulfilment team pick, pack and dispatch wines to all UK addresses. Our service is fast efficient and reliable.
We do offer a next-day delivery service on a selected range of wines, which you can find here. Next-day delivery applies to these wines only and if any other wines are added to your order, the next-day delivery option will not be available. UK mainland only. Orders must be placed by 2pm, and deliveries will take place Monday to Friday.

Where possible, we will use the existing packaging the wine is shipped to us in from the producer. If we feel this is unfit, we will re-pack in a Mr.Wheeler branded, recyclable cardboard carton.
Inevitably there will be the occasional breakage upon transit. If your wine doesn’t arrive in perfect condition, please contact our sales team on 01206 713560 or [email protected] and we will be very happy to arrange a suitable solution or straight replacement.

if you don’t like any bottle, for whatever reason, please let us know and we will replace the wine or refund you.
