Chateau Siaurac began in 1832 by the Guichard family. Its 36.5 hectares of vineyards are planted with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec and are a mixture of gravel and clay soils. Today, Chateau Siaurac is managed by Paul and Aline Goldschmidt, who for a time owned the whole estate. However in March, 2014 they sold a significant percentage of their holdings to the owner of Chateau Latour, Francois Pinault and the Artemis group. Chateau Siaurac uses a combination of concrete and stainless steel vats in it's fermentation process before being aged in 15% new French oak barrels for an average of 12 months. The Estate also produces an excellent second wine the Plaisir de Siaurac.
