Bodegas Castaño
Bodegas Castaño is today one of the most respected wine producers in South-Eastern Spain in particular with regards to cultivating the indigenous grape varieties in particular Monastrell, which is very much the king variety in Yecla. They owns nearly 450 hectares of vineyards across four different estates spread throughout Yecla D.O. region. Ramón Castaño's relationship with wine dates back many years and his family have a long history in the business. In 1950 Ramón built a new winery which significantly modernised the families operation however it was not until 1980 when the first wines of their wines were bottled. Subsequently his sons have now joined the business and are now running much of the Bodegas.
