Third generation Burgundian varietal specialists working with the ideal, cooler climate conditions that make South Africa's Walker Bay the source of some of the countries most exquisite pinots and chardonnays. Crystallum's ethos strikes a balance between old-world methods and traditions whilst staying in tune with the vineyards they source from.
In the Bona Fide, this means spontaneous fermentation with no commercial yeasts added. Here, too, a 40% whole bunch component with the rest de-stemmed but left intact as whole berries. Eleven months in French Oak barriques. However, now ten years on, bright cassis, cherry notes, spice and slight smokiness have evolved and complexified into something even more intriguing -- a pinot the Burgundophile will find much to rejoice about.
"From a vineyard conjoining Bouchard-Finlayson with 40% whole-bunch and raised in 20% new oak, the 2013 Bona Fide Pinot Noir has a more laconic bouquet than the Cuvée Cinema with more tertiary scents of black bramble fruit, wild hedgerow and hints of marmalade loitering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, good depth and plenty of Pinot energy that illuminates the finish that is probably the most supple of the all the 2013 cuvées. We do offer a next-day delivery service on a selected range of wines, which you can find here. Next-day delivery applies to these wines only and if any other wines are added to your order, the next-day delivery option will not be available. UK mainland only. Orders must be placed by 2pm, and deliveries will take place Monday to Friday.

Where possible, we will use the existing packaging the wine is shipped to us in from the producer. If we feel this is unfit, we will re-pack in a Mr.Wheeler branded, recyclable cardboard carton.
Inevitably there will be the occasional breakage upon transit. If your wine doesn’t arrive in perfect condition, please contact our sales team on 01206 713560 or [email protected] and we will be very happy to arrange a suitable solution or straight replacement.
